Cell culture supplements

The success of cell culture derived drugs in recent years led to an increasing demand for adequate media components:

Safe: without risk of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy, viral and bacterial contamination,
Cost effective: for replacement of expensive components like foetal calf serum, growth factors,
Highly performing: growth, metabolite production.

Bio Springer has developed special high quality yeast derived nutrients for cell culture media formulation naturally extracted from Saccharomyces cerevisiae selected strains (Springer® UF range).

Bio Springer cell culture nutrients main characteristics:

Balanced sources of easily assimilated amino acids and peptides,
Rich in growth factors like vitamins, minerals, nucleotides, and phosphorus,
Meet the high requirements of biopharmaceutical drugs and vaccines manufacturing,
Safe: Animal-free, allergen free, high microbiological quality,
Low endotoxin level,
High consistency,
Ultrafiltered to guaranty high solubility and filterability.

Bio Springer yeast derived nutrients are recommended as media supplements in order to:

Improve growth viability of industrial cell lines like CHO, hybridomas, VERO, BHK in serum-free and protein free media;
Increase the production of recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies;
Reduce quantity of expensive or unsafe ingredients,
Replace mixtures of crystalline amino acids.

Typical concentration in media: 0.1 - 0.8%.

Example:

Supplementing serum free media with Springer® UF yeast extract improve the growth of CHO cells.
